Church Celebrates 80 years!

1935 - 2015

On Sunday 29th November we celebrated the 80th birthday of our church.
The current congregation were pleased to welcome back many who had been associated with the church over the years.
In particular we rejoiced that one member, Gwen Jackson, who was at its inception, was able to be present.

After the service led by our minister Rev John Amankwatia over 100 people sat down for a celebration lunch followed by "afternoon entertainment"

Activities for Families, Babies,
Toddlers and older Children

" Playbox "  Babies and Toddlers Group: 10.30 am – 12.00 Noon on Fridays
(term-time only).
A warm friendly environment where Parents/Carers can bring babies & toddlers.  A range of toys are available.Tea/coffee/biscuits/juice provided.  Simple craft activity each week and a time of singing to finish. Parents/carers are responsible for children at all times. A weekly donation of £2 is suggested.

Holiday Fun Week:  An ecumenical holiday club for children aged 4 to 13, usually held near the beginning of the School Summer Holidays.  This is very popular, so please book early. See Banstead Five Churches website for more info.

Sunday School: Small classes for children of all ages which take place during the 10:30 am church service, except when there is a Parade Service when the children remain in church throughout. Classes take place in term-time and sometimes during the school holidays. Includes Bible stories, crafts, games and quizzes.  Contact: 01737 812294 for information. 

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts

Beavers: For boys and girls aged 6 – 8 years old. Motto: “Fun and Friends”.  The annual programme includes games, some badge work, learning through fun activities, outings and sleepovers.  Beavers meet in the Scout HQ at the back of the church on Thursdays (5.30 pm – 6.45 pm) in term-time. Cubs: For boys and girls aged 8 – 10.  The programme includes camping, sleepovers, badge work, games, challenge awards and outings.  Cubs meet in the Scout HQ at the back of the church on Wednesdays (6.30 pm – 8.00 pm) in term-time. Contact:  01737 356201 for more details.

Scouts: For boys and girls aged 10 – 14.  Includes camping, hiking, badge work, cooking initiative tests, sleepovers and outings.  Scouts meet in the Scout HQ behind the church on Fridays (7.30 pm – 9 pm) in term–time. Contact : 01737 356201 for more details.

Membership fees:  All sections pay a £45.00 Joining Fee with the membership fees for 2014 set at £35.00 per term thereafter, plus section subs of £5.00 per term.

Parade Services: Interactive, all-age services for all ages but aimed especially at children and young people. Parade services usually take place in January, February, March, June, September, October and November on the last Sunday of the month (except in March when it takes place on Mothering Sunday).
