Burglary
Be extra vigilant and prepared when leaving your house unattended. Simple things like installing a security sensor light or leaving items such as radios and lamps on a timer switch may help to deter criminals. Other things you can do are:
Ensure all doors, windows, side or back gates are locked at all times. In the evening, draw the curtains and leave lights on.
Set your house alarm - even for short periods of time.
Lock your shed and garage. Do not leave any tools lying around in your garden.
If you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area please report it.
Check for any suspicious marks marking your property such as an X marked in chalk. Call 101.
Be nosey! Many arrests and dealings with burglars have come from a vigilant resident. Call 999 if you suspect a burglary is taking place.
Parking around schools
Parking is an ongoing issue in the roads surrounding this school. Inconsiderate parking may not only be an annoyance - it may be illegal. Anyone parking illegally may be liable to a Park Smart warning or a £30 fixed penalty notice. Common issues witnessed outside school are ILLEGAL road traffic offences:
Obstruction-of the road or a junction, Parking on Yellow Lines-School Markings / ZigZags, Parking on or less than 10m from a junction, Parking on a footpath. Please be aware that local Parking Enforcement Officers can also give tickets to the sum of £60 for the same offences.
